City of Homer holds auction for surplus city equipment

Bidding is open until Jan. 12

The City of Homer is accepting bids for surplus equipment through Jan. 12, according a Dec. 14 announcement from the City. Surplus items for sale include outdoor gear, vehicles and heavy duty equipment, among others, and are sold as-is. Minimum bids may be listed on some items.

To arrange an inspection of items, bidders may contact the respective department at the phone numbers shown on the surplus equipment list during regular office hours between Thursday, Dec. 22 and Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Sealed bids must be on the proper bid form provided by the City. Only one item can be listed per form, per envelope, which must have the bidder’s name and address, the bid item number and item name.

“City of Homer Surplus Equipment Sale – January 2023” must be printed on the outside of the envelope. All bidders must submit a City of Homer plan holder registration form to be on the plan holder list and to be considered responsive.

Plan holder registration forms, surplus equipment list and images, minimum bid requirements and bid forms are available online at http://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/rfps. Paper copies of the bid packet may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office for a $10 fee. Additional paper copies of the bid form may be obtained for a fee of $0.25 per copy.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12.

Sealed bids will be publicly opened and read on Friday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m.

The City states that it reserves the right, when in its best interest, to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities. Purchased items must be paid for and removed within five business days of the bid opening.
