A Kenai resident died in a car wreck near Turnagain Pass on Wednesday afternoon, according to an Alaska State Troopers dispatch.

Dominique Flenory, 31, was driving north near Mile 71.5 the Seward Highway in a 2001 Cadillac when the vehicle lost traction and was hit by a southbound Ford F150 pickup.

The driver and passenger of the Ford pickup were transported by Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries, and Flenory was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, the dispatch says.

Flenory’s body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner Office in Anchorage, and the next of kin have been notified.

Parts of the western Kenai Peninsula have seen increased snow accumulation over the past week, which creates adverse driving conditions.

According to the National Weather Service on Tuesday, the forecast predicts snow throughout the weekend on the peninsula.
