Nicholas Faulkner of Homer, a member of the class of 2016, has been named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy, also known as Andover, for the spring term. To be named to the honor roll, students must maintain at least a five-point grade average on a six-point scale. 


Kenai Peninsula Borough School District

Sept. 18: Classes released 90 minutes early for teacher and instructional support staff to collaborate. Bus schedule will be adjusted to early release time.

Note: All vehicles need a new blue and white parking permit sticker visible on the windshield. Vehicle checks will begin this week to make sure the stickers are there. Permit stickers are available at the office.

Paul Banks Elementary School

Today: Open house, 6:30 p.m. This is a time for parents to hear what will be happening in classrooms; best to attend without children.

Susan B. English School

Note: A 2013-2014 community pool schedule has been added to the school’s website. It includes a Monday-Thursday lap swim, a 50-plus exercise swim, Friday night open swim, student swim and kayak techniques, as well as information about punch cards for adults and students.
