Highland Games are Saturday

Highland games set for Saturday

The sixth annual Homer Highland Games return from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Karen Hornaday Park.

The games include the traditional Highland Game events of the kilted mile, the caber toss, the hammer throw, the stone toss, the sheaf throw and, special to Homer, the halibut toss. The event also features vendors and food.

Athletes interested in competing can sign up online at kachemakbayscottishclub.org.

Athletes must wear kilts.
