A furry Friday: Oscar the ferret visits kids’ class for book reading

Several youngsters got a special treat Friday when Oscar the ferret, and his brother Cosmo, crashed a class at the Girassol Learning Center in Homer.

Homer resident Jeannette Aragones owned the ferrets and wrote a book called “I Am Oscar. I Am in Charge.” this year. Written from Oscar’s perspective, it details a day in his life with Aragones, who says in the book that she got Oscar “in a moment when she most needed a friend.” Oscar and Cosmo visited with the excited children while Aragones read to them from her book, making for a fun-filled afternoon.
