We have lived adjacent to Bishop’s Beach for 20 years, and cherish the beach every day.  Occasionally the beauty is jarred by the screams of speeding dirt bikes (which changes the flavor for a half mile in both directions) or a truck doing doughnuts (gotta be a lot of fun!).  

In spite of this, we feel that it would be a great mistake to have a gate to close Bishop’s Beach at night. There are many reasons, pro and con. More important are the lasting effects, such as further disenfranchising segments of our community and furthering the polarization of groups of users.

We want to thank all the people working on this for trying very hard to get community input, and apologize to them for not getting our two cents out there until now.
