Kachemak Board of Realtors provides a helping hand

Kachemak Board of Realtors President Gina Pelaia poses with Darlene Hildebrand, executive director of Hospice of Homer, after presenting Hildebrand a check for $2,000 for Hospice. The Realtors raised the money during their annual Christmas Auction and Benefit. In addition to presenting Hospice of Homer with a check, the Realtors at their general membership meeting Feb. 17 also presented the following gifts:

• Paula Cook on behalf of the Anchor Point Food Bank received a check for $1,000;

• Doug Dodd on behalf of the Homer Community Food Pantry received a check for $1,000;

• Miranda Weiss from The Homer Foundation Boat Pavillion Project received a check for $1, 000.

The Kachemak Board of Realtors also will give three $1,000 scholarships to local graduates. The organization also sponsors the Kach-a-Kid Program to help children involved with Office of Children’s Services.
The group also is putting a Board of Realtors Bowling team together to support Homer’s Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraiser bowl-a-thon for kids on April 2 at Kachemak Bowling Center.
