Homer City Council members Bradley Parsons and Jason Davis have filed for candidacy for the upcoming municipal election on Oct. 7.
Parsons was appointed to the council last November to fill the vacancy left by then-council member Rachel Lord, after she was elected as Homer’s new mayor. Parson’s appointment was slated to last until this year’s city election. He has filed for candidacy for another one-year term on the council.
Davis was first elected to the council in 2022; he’s filed for one of the two three-year term seats.
The second three-year term seat on the city council up for election this year currently belongs to council member Storm Hansen, who said during Monday’s council meeting that she was going to try to stay on the council.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no one else had filed for city council candidacy, including Hansen.
Both Parsons’ and Davis’ candidate statements were listed as pending on the City of Homer website as of Tuesday afternoon.

The filing period will close Friday, Aug. 15, at 4:30 p.m.
