Homer Police last week put out an alert asking residents to be on the alert for thefts from vehicles in the Mattox Street and Ben Walters Lane area of town. Over the last two months, police have noticed an increase in calls reporting thefts from cars. In all cases the thefts were in unlocked vehicles. Police urged citizens to secure vehicles and valuables. Anyone who has information about the thefts can call Homer Police at 235-3150 or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at 800-478-4258.
