Scholarship opportunity: Jack Hopkins Scholarship available for Susan B. Graduation

Today: Alaska Bible Institute holds a graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Due to space constraints, guests are limited to high school and older, with no childcare available. The celebration will be held on the ABI campus, 1295 Mission Road in Homer. For more information, call 235-8647.

HEA youth rally and poster competition

The deadline for scholarship applications to the annual Homer Electric Association Youth Rally in Caldwell, Idaho is April 1. High school sophomores and juniors are invited to apply for this expense-paid week in July, and enhance leadership skills, learn about electric cooperatives and participate in team-building exercises. Applications are available online at www.homerelectdric.com or at HEA offices in Homer and Kenai.

HEA’s Safey Poster contest encourages students to artistically communicate an electrical safety message. The contest is open to third- and fourth-grade students within the HEA service area, and includes three categories: best electric safety message, most humorous safety message and most creative safety message.
