Thanks to Homer Foundation

Dear Homer Foundation,

The City of Homer received a grant from the Homer Foundation to connect the fireplace at the Homer Public Library to natural gas. The fireplace is a cozy and inviting space for the public to read, relax and gather. Using natural gas instead of propane to fuel the fireplace reduces carbon emissions by 30 percent and is one step in the City of Homer’s implementation of the Climate Action Plan. At a cost savings of almost 60 percent, natural gas also frees up funds for other opportunities at the Library.

Thank you to the Homer Foundation and donors for their commitment to a sustainable future for our town and our world.

Homer Mayor Beth Wythe
