March 5

Alaska State Troopers at 10:45 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 19-year-old Homer man driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy. The man stopped near Mile 168 Sterling Highway in Homer. Troopers said that after he pulled over, the man put his car in neutral and didn’t engage the emergency brake. The car rolled backwards and hit a trooper’s 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe patrol car, causing $500 in damage to the Subaru. The Tahoe had no apparent damage. No one was injured. An investigation showed the man had a revoked driver’s license and he was arrested for driving while license revoked.
