Scholarship will help at UAF

I would like to take the time to thank the Homer Foundation for awarding me the Alain and Daniel Rieser Scholarship. The scholarship is specifically for students who either want to study languages in college or are planning a trip abroad. Fortunately, I have been able to be a part of both categories. When I was a sophomore I went on a 10-month youth exchange to Istanbul, Turkey. My time abroad made me realize how much I love languages. Now I intend to study linguistics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks — which is made possible  thanks to the Homer Foundation and its generous investment in my future.

Thank you, Homer Foundation, for helping me and so many other students in our  wonderful community.
