Longtime Soldotna resident Anusorn “Nuson” Smith, 51, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna after battling cancer.

A celebration of his life will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Soldotna High School Auditorium.

Nuson was born Dec. 12, 1970 in Bangkok, Thailand. He came to the U.S. with his family on July 4, 1974. He graduated from Soldotna High School in 1990.

Nuson worked for Apple Bus Company. He was also an accomplished drummer and musician, who played for AK Free Fuel, Fair Game, Riff Raff, Spotted Sawyer, Frozen Chosen & The Jammin Band to name a few.

He enjoyed the drums, camping throughout Alaska, and traveling to Thailand, Hawaii, and Las Vegas, which were a few of his favorite places to go.

His Family shares this, “Life and death is like music. Life is the note. Death is the silence. Play your note well. -Robert G. Moons.”

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth H. Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kayla Stacey-Smith; son, Kensington ‘Kenny’ Smith; and his mother, Sawang Smith all of Soldotna; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Shane Victorino; nephews, Keenan Smith and Kingston Victorino; and niece, Kali’a Victorino-Smith, all of Las Vegas, NV.
