Keith A. Iverson obituary

Keith A. Iverson

November 1942-September 2022

Keith A. Iverson, 79, died in September 2022 of a rare form of cancer he fought for 17 years. As was his longterm wish, he died at home with his wife Randi at his side.

An Alaska pioneer since 1972, he built, owned and operated Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge for 40 years. An imaginative artist and thinker, he had a dynamic possibility and created and accomplished “impossible” projects.

Keith loved and protected the wilderness and was well-known, admired and loved by many. He wrote the book, “Alaska Viking: An Autobiography,” about his life and adventures in Alaska.

He is survived by Randi Iverson, his wife of 25 years.

“May Keith rest in peace in Valhalla with his family and friends who have passed on. He’s waiting there for his old friends and Randi to join him when it’s their time,” his family wrote.

Donations in Keith’s name can be made to Friends of Kachemak Bay State Park through their website, www.friendsofkachemakbay.org or by credit card or check to 95 Sterling Highway, Suite 2, Homer, AK 99603. Donations also can be made to Hospice of Homer through their website, www.hospiceofhomer.org, or by credit card or check to Hospice of Homer, 265 Pioneer Ave., Suite 3, Homer, AK 99603.

The possibility of a service will be announced at a later date should Randi decide to schedule one.
