Marilyn Green

Marilyn Green passed on the 25th of February 2023.

Marilyn Green passed on the 25th of February 2023, leaving five children, 10 grandchildren, and

her husband Glenn of 58 years.

Marilyn was born in Los Angeles, CA. on March 1st, 1945, and came to Alaska with her husband

and two children in 1969. She settled in Anchorage and then moved to Homer in 1973. A much

different town than it is today. She homeschooled her children for about two years while a

house was being built and suffered through all the trials of the homestead life.

Marilyn was a graduate of UCLA dental program for dental assistant and worked in several

dental offices in the Anchorage and Homer area, before retiring from the Homer Dental Clinic.

She was the Chaplain of The Pioneers of Alaska, Igloo #14.

Marilyn had a unique Christian ability to not carry a hateful feeling towards anyone and always

had a way to convey a Christian love. Marilyn leaves an empty place in all that knew her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Glenn Gilbert Green of Homer, Ak.; daughters, Carri

Shamburger, of Anchorage Ak. and Jayme Ingledue of Coeur d’ Alene, Id.; sons, Daniel Green of

Norfolk, Nebraska, Todd Green of Homer, Alaska, and Scott Green of Omaha, Nebraska;

brother, Wayne Konkright of San Diego, Ca.; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leon, and Margaret Konkright; and her

sister, Jan Rowley.
