Tocia Lynn Tymrak passed on to her latest dimension at her home with her best doggie ever, Tico on July 5th, 2025 due to smoke inhalation from an early morning fire.
Tocia was born at her fathers homestead on Christmas morning, 1981. She grew up in the woods with horses, chickens and other wild animals, learning to ride and play with wild things. This was a place she stayed near throughout her life and where she developed her passion for protecting all animals.
Her initials (TLT) it was said, stood for “Tender Loving Tymrak”. She had the rare quality of being able to listen with her full attention, without judgement or the feeling that she needed to “fix” anything. People would confide in Tocia and knew that she would keep their stories in her heart. Animals knew her spirit was pure and both wild and domestic creatures gravitated to her.
Tocia had strong hands with which she enjoyed gardening, fishing, making costumes, riding horses and cooking amazing food in her Dandelion food cart. Tocia was also known for her talent as a middle eastern dancer as well as a beautiful model for the Homer Wearable Arts Show.
She spent many winters visiting the sun in Mexico where she rescued Tico who would be with her for the next 13 years.
It would make Tocia very happy If you could make a donation in Tocia’s name to the local Homer animal shelter or to her friend, Annette’s dog rescue in Mexico, Perros en Puerto. Please do so at this link: https://www.perrosenpuerto.org.
She will be so very missed.
