The Annual Homer Spit Run – 10k Run to the Bay and the Cosmic Hamlet Half Marathon will be held Saturday June 25. The 10K Run to the bay is a USATF certified 10K course that starts at Homer High School and continues to the end of the Homer Spit. Both races benefit local youth running programs. The 10K to the Bay is a point-to-point 10K from Homer High School and finishing at the End of the Road Park. The Cosmic Hamlet Half Marathon is an out and back starting and finishing at the End of the Road Park. Complementary shuttle service will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for runners to return back to the High School from the End of the Road Park.
10K to the Bay: Runners start at 10 a.m. The course begins at Homer High School and ends at the End of the Road Park.
There will be an untimed walkers division for the 10k. Registration for walkers is only available Friday at bib pick up or day of. The fee is $30 with no day-of penalty. All registered walkers will receive a T-shirt and a bib. Walkers will begin at 9 a.m. from the Homer High School; registrants with running bibs will not be allowed to start with the walkers.
Cosmic Hamlet Half Marathon: Day of registration and bib pick up will be at Homer High School. The half will follow a similar course to the 10K, out and back, ending at the End of the Road Park. The official course will be posted on the KBRC Facebook prior to the race. The Half Marathon starts at 9 a.m. at the End of the Road Park.
Registration Fees: Register online at: https://my.raceresult.com/203385/. The 10K cost is $30 and the Half Marathon cost is $40. Registration fees include a T-shirt. Register early to guarantee a shirt. Kachemak Bay Running Club members receive a $5 discount on registration fees. Day-of registrations will be charged an additional $5 fee.
Bib Pick-Up: Early bib pick up will be available for the 10K and Half Marathon on Friday, June 24, at the Homer High School commons from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All day-of registration and bib pick up will be available from 8-8:45 a.m. for the half and 8-9:45 a.m. for the 10K on June 25 at Homer High School.
