Homer Police report

A caller at 9:23 a.m. reported a suspicious man with “bad vibes.” The caller knew this because of psychic training, the caller said. Police were advised of the description of the man.

A caller at 9:55 a.m. reported a man walking down Ben Walters Lane openly carrying a rifle.

A person at 12:27 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a person driving near Mile 1.5 East End Road. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

A caller at 1:04 p.m. reported a theft from a car on Beluga Circle.

A caller at 3:35 p.m. reported a rental car was overdue. Police advised the caller of options.

An officer at 3:34 p.m. found a dog hit by a car on Diamond Ridge Road near Shelton Circle. The owner took the dog to a veterinary clinic.

A caller at 5:09 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance at a Pioneer Avenue address.

A caller at 5:10 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on family members. Police contacted the family and found all was OK.

A caller at 6:57 p.m. reported being harassed by a 40-year-old man over the phone. Police charged the man with harassment.

Feb. 9

A caller at 12:21 a.m. contacted an 18-year-old man driving on Pioneer Avenue and issued him a summons for not having a valid driver’s license.

A caller at 4:48 a.m. reported suspicious activity in the Danview Avenue area. Police responded but did not see anything unusual.

A caller at 12:18 p.m. reported a civil problem with a Pioneer Avenue business.

A caller at 1:17 p.m. reported a juvenile with drugs at a local school.

A caller at 1:35 p.m. reported damage to her car after it had been parked at long-term parking on Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 5:58 p.m. reported a possibly drunk pedestrian in the road on East End Road. Police responded but could not find the suspect.

Police at 9:20 p.m. contacted a person on probation in regards to a wanted subject.

Feb. 10

A caller at 10:55 a.m. reported a possible burglary attempt at a Pioneer Avenue address two days before.

A person at 11:48 a.m. made a 911 call of a man in another car harassing him after a confrontation outside a Sterling Highway business.

A caller at 4:37 p.m. reported a possible violation of a no-contact order.

A person at 6:58 p.m. made a 911 call of a moose about to enter the road near Pioneer Avenue and Lake Street.

A caller at 10:27 p.m. expressed concern for a boy running down the sidewalk on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and found all was OK.

A caller at 11:01 p.m. reported receiving harassing text messages and phone calls. Police advised the caller of options. The caller asked for a welfare check on a family member. Police checked and found all was OK.

Feb. 11

Another public safety agency at 12:55 a.m. passed on information regarding a 911 call with an open line from a Kachemak Drive address. Police found the subject. Medics transported a man and a woman who were extremely drunk to South Peninsula Hospital. A woman was later taken into protective custody and housed at the Homer Jail.

An officer at 11:48 a.m. saw young children walking down the road on East End Road. The officer returned the children to a parent.

A caller at 12:17 p.m. reported a man passed out in a car parked on the caller’s property on West Hill Road.

A caller at 4:33 p.m. reported a person speeding and driving dangerously on Bunnell Avenue.

Police at 8:11 p.m. contacted a 29-year-old woman driving on East End Road and arrested her for driving while license revoked and driving in violation of license limitation.

A person at 10:36 p.m. made a 911 call and reported a dispute with a drunk man leaving a Sterling Highway home. The caller asked for a welfare check on the man. Police contacted a man and woman and did not see any criminal activity.

Feb. 12

Police at 1:06 a.m. served a search warrant in relation to an earlier charge of driving while license revoked.

A caller at 9:50 a.m. reported abandoned bicycles chained to the Homer Public Library. Police removed the bikes and logged them at the police station for safekeeping.

Police at 1 p.m. contacted a 32-year-old man at a Collie Street address and arrested him for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, marijuana.

A person at 1:31 p.m. reported fraud.

Police at 3:59 p.m. served a search warrant at a Collie Street address.

A person at 5:03 p.m. made a 911 call that a boat on a trailer took out a power pole near Mile 1 Kachemak Drive. Police advised Homer Electric Association.

Police at 8:19 p.m. contacted a 56-year-old man driving on East End Road and arrested him for violating conditions of release and an outstanding warrant.
