Alaska State Troopers at 10:45 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 30-year-old Homer woman driving on Kachemak Drive. Troopers arrested her for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Troopers at 12:36 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 23-year-old Homer woman driving without headlights illuminated on the Sterling Highway near Soundview Avenue. Troopers arrested the woman for DUI.
Troopers at 2:17 p.m. went to a Marsha Way home in Ninilchik for a noncriminal incident. The home owner reported a burglary sometime between March and May where a fuel tank, Toyo stove, well pump, windows and other items were stolen. The cabin also had been shot at and severely damaged. Troopers at 5:21 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 24-year-old Homer man driving a black Yamaha motorcycle and speeding on the Sterling Highway north of Anchor Point. Troopers issued the man a summons for driving in violation of a motorcycle permit.
Troopers at 9:13 p.m. went to a single-vehicle rollover with injuries near Mile 122 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. Ninilchik medics and a LifeMed helicopter also responded. Troopers said an 18-year-old Soldotna woman had been thrown from a Ford Ranger pickup truck. LifeMed medics took her by helicopter to an Anchorage hospital. She was listed in serious but stable condition. The driver, a 20-year-old Soldotna man, suffered minor injuries. Medics took him to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. The driver and passenger did not wear seatbelts. Witnesses said the man was speeding and passed other cars in a construction zone. Witnesses said the driver tried to pass three cars when he lost control on gravel and the truck went into the ditch and rolled, ejecting the woman.
Troopers at 9:17 p.m. went to a disturbance at the Ninilchik Fair Grounds camping area. Troopers said a 24-year-old Anchorage woman assaulted a family member. Troopers arrested the woman for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
Troopers at 12:46 a.m. went to the Duck Inn in Soldotna for the report of a disturbance. Troopers said a 22-year-old Homer man was drunk and caused a disturbance. The man left in a cab after being asked to leave. The man later returned, challenged others to fight and got into a fight with another person at the bar. Security staff at the bar restrained the Homer man until troopers arrived. Troopers arrested the Homer man for being drunk on licensed premises and disorderly conduct
On 8/29/16 at 7 a.m. hours, Alaska State Troopers at 7 a.m. went to a car crash near Mile 13 East End Road. A 39-year-old Anchor Point woman failed to make a curve, went off the road, rolled several times and hit a power pole. Medics extricated her and took her to South Peninsula Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She wore her seatbelt. Alcohol is suspected of being a factor in the crash and the investigation is on going. The crash caused a power outage in the area.
