Homer Police Report

Dec. 8

A caller at 6:23 a.m. reported an unattended skiff in the harbor.

A caller at 10:21 a.m. reported a lost cell phone.

A woman at 12:10 p.m. dropped off at the police station a purse found in the road. Another woman on Dec. 9 reported her purse stolen and police determined the found purse belonged to the victim. 

A person at 1:07 p.m. made a 911 call of a child left in a car at a Sterling Highway parking lot.

A man at 2:25 p.m. reported a woman in a car parked next to his at a Sterling Highway lot hit his car with her car’s door and then drove away.

A woman at 4 p.m. turned in found property at the police station.

A person at 6:30 p.m. made a 911 call of a drunk man walking in the middle of the Sterling Highway. Police responded but could not find the man.

A man at 7:02 p.m. reported being threatened.

Dec. 9

A caller at 5:17 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a person on the Spit.

A caller at 8:55 a.m. reported an abandoned car with a dog inside barking that was parked on Bunnell Avenue. Police contacted the driver and issued a summons for driving while license revoked to a 48-year-old man.

A person at 11:04 a.m. made a 911 call of a car crash at a Lake Street parking lot. Police issued a summons to a 25-year-old woman for driving while license revoked.

A man at 1:57 p.m. reported a trailer stolen on the Spit.

A caller at 5:57 p.m. reported a case of fraud.

A caller at 5:43 p.m. reported a driver spinning brodies in a Fairview Avenue parking lot. Police contacted the driver and warned the person of unsafe driving. Police also contacted the driver’s mother.

A caller at 10:27 p.m. reported a domestic dispute with a person throwing belongings out of a window at a Pioneer Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 28-year-old woman for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief.

A person at 11:05 p.m. turned in a found cell phone at the police station.

Dec. 10

A caller at 10:45 p.m. reported hearing a chainsaw and seeing flashlights on the beach at Mariner Park. Police responded and warned people not to cut up logs in the berm and also issued a disorderly conduct warning.

Dec. 11

A caller at 3:49 a.m. reported a drunk man passed out at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 32-year-old man on an outstanding warrant.

A caller at 4:49 a.m. reported a man singing loudly at an Adams Drive address. Police responded but could not find the singer.

A caller at 4:55 a.m. provided information on stolen property.

A woman at 1 p.m. reported lost property.

A person at 2:50 p.m. turned in a key found on the Spit beach.

A caller at 5:08 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Lake Street business. Police responded and issued a summons to a 24-year-old man for concealment of merchandise. Police also issued 1-year trespass notices to two people.

Police at 8:40 p.m. contacted a driver on the Sterling Highway. The driver agreed to leave the car parked until getting insurance and fixing the headlight.

Dec. 12

A man at 2:24 a.m. made a 911 call of an armed man in a Lakeside Drive home. Police responded and arrested a 57-year-old man for burglary, four counts of assault, weapons misconduct and drunk driving. The four victims escaped injury and were made safe.

A caller at 10:19 p.m. reported cars parked in the roadway and blocking traffic on East End Road and the occupants involved in a disturbance. Police separated the parties involved and determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.

Dec. 13

A caller at 12:05 a.m. reported men with open containers and drinking in a car parked at a Pioneer Avenue lot. Police responded. The men agreed to leave in a cab.

A caller at 2:40 p.m. reported abandoned puppies at a Grubstake Avenue address. Police responded but could not find the puppies.

Dec. 14

A caller at 12:17 a.m. asked police to make a welfare check on a person who made suicidal statements on social media. Police spoke to the person and determined all was OK.
