Sept. 17

A woman at 9:07 a.m. went to the police station to report harassing communications she was getting on Clover Lane. An officer spoke with the woman.

A caller at 11:55 a.m. requested an officer on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene.

An officer at 12:16 p.m. assisted a motorist on Svedlund Street.

An officer at 2:22 p.m. gave a driver a warning for speeding at East Hill Road and East End Road.

An officer at 4:25 p.m. arrested a man on an arrest warrant on Lake Street.

A caller at 5:32 p.m. reported a man who had been given a trespass notice to keep him from a store on Greatland Street was back in the store. Officers went to the location and contacted the man.

A caller at 5:45 p.m. made an after the fact report of a man banging on the door and yelling on Lupine Court. An officer contacted the man.

An officer at 7:40 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Mt. Augustine Drive and the Sterling Highway.

An officer at 11:07 p.m. warned a driver for having expired registration at Saltwater Drive and the Sterling Highway.

Sept. 18

An officer at 12:56 a.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers at Walter Thomas Road and the Sterling Highway.

A caller at An officer at 8:44 a.m. warned a driver for speeding on the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 10:54 a.m. reported a disturbance with her son on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene. The man left the area prior to the officer arriving and no crime was committed.

A man at 12:05 p.m. went to the police station for paperwork. An officer assisted the man.

A caller at 3:54 p.m. reported that a shoplifter stole a “cartload of food” from a business on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 35-year-old man for third-degree theft.

An officer at 4:20 p.m. contacted a store on Greatland Street in reference to an after the fact shoplifting report. The officer ended up arrested a 35-year-old man for fourth-degree theft.

A caller at 4:54 p.m. asked to speak to the FBI about an incident that had occurred in the Homer area the night before. The caller refused to speak to an officer.

A caller at 4:55 p.m. requested that a welfare check be made on a woman on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the area.

An officer at 6:50 p.m. helped with placing an animal in the Homer Animal Shelter.

Sept. 19

A caller at 4:20 a.m. reported an alarm going off on East End Road. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 8:31 a.m. reported an attempted break in on Waddell Street. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 3:55 p.m. reported an “assault with bear spray during a road rage incident” at Mile 169 Sterling Highway. Officers issued a summons to a 67-year-old man for fourth-degree assault and reckless driving.

A caller at 5:35 p.m. reported a physical altercation at Bishop’s Beach. An officer went to the scene, and fourth-degree assault charges were forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

A caller at 5:40 p.m. reported hearing gunfire in the area of West Tasmania Court. No officer was available at the time of the call. An officer later went to the area but didn’t note anything suspicious.

A caller at 6 p.m. reported a parked vehicle impeding traffic on Calhoun Court. No officer was available at the time of the call. An officer later went to the area and the vehicle in question was gone.

Multiple callers at 6:58 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch on FAA Road. An officer and medics went to the scene. A woman passenger was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.

A caller at 8:57 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on an vehicle on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the area but the vehicle was already gone.

An alarm company at 11:11 p.m. reported a burglary alarm on FAA Road. An officer went to the scene.

Sept. 20

A caller at 9:32 a.m. reported a possibly abandoned vehicle at Cabana Court and Soundview Avenue. The owner of the vehicle was advised and they moved it.

An officer at 4:35 p.m. warned a driver for having expired registration on Main Street.

An officer at 8:19 p.m. gave a 35-year-old male driver a summons for driving with their license revoked at Mile 169 Sterling Highway.

An officer at 11:08 p.m. contacted a person at Pioneer avenue and Bartlett Street.

A caller at 11:50 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on the Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t note any impairment.

Sept. 21

A caller at 3:25 a.m. requested that a man be removed from a business on Shelford Street. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 8:39 a.m. reported a domestic dispute in a neighboring apartment on West Fairview Avenue. An officer went to the scene and found it was a verbal dispute and that no crime had been committed.

A caller at 10:32 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle. An officer contacted the driver on Compass Drive and didn’t note any impairment.

An officer at 12:46 p.m. removed found property from the road at Main Street and the Sterling Highway.

Multiple callers at 4:09 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch at Lake Street and Ocean Drive. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 7:05 p.m. reported an injured dog in the roadway at Compass Drive and East End Road. An officer went to the are but didn’t locate the dog.

An officer at 8:11 p.m. gave a driver a warning for having expired registration at West Hill Road and Eagle View Drive.

A caller at 11:29 p.m. reported an intoxicated man “passed out in (a) stairwell” on East Pioneer Avenue. Officers went to the scene and arrested a 29-year-old man for trespassing. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Sept. 22

A caller at A caller at 1:04 a.m. asked for a security check on a suspicious vehicle near a business on Freight Dock Road. An officer responded.

A caller at 1:18 a.m. reported a verbal argument between two people on Shelford Street. An officer went to the location and gave both people disorderly conduct warnings.

An officer at 4 a.m. assisted medics on West Fairview Avenue.

A caller at 7:18 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch on Spit Road. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 12:17 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Glenview Avenue and the Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t detect any impairment.

A person at 6:32 p.m. went to the police station and reported theft from a vehicle on Rangeview Avenue. An officer spoke with the person.

A caller at 8:04 p.m. requested that a welfare check be made on a person stumbling in the roadway at Main Street and Danview Avenue. Officers contacted the person in question.

A caller at 8:48 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle at Skyline Drive and Clearwater Drive. An officer went to the area.

An officer at 10:28 p.m. gave a driver a warning for having expired registration at Ocean Drive and Lampert Lane.

Troopers

Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Sterling contacted a 63-year-old Homer man after he was moose hunting. They gave him a citation for not having his Moose Hunter Orientation completed prior to hunting in Game Management Unit 15. Bail is set at $120 in the Kenai Court.

Petro Basargin, 35, violating conditions of release.

Christopher R. Wilson, 35, first-degree vehicle theft, failing to stop for an officer, reckless driving, third-degree assault and driving under the influence.

Edward M. Uwekoolani Jr., 53, driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Kenneth Hurd, 67, reckless driving and three counts of fourth-degree assault in a Sept. 19 case. In a separate case from the same date, driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

James S. V. Pearce, 35, fourth-degree theft in a Sept. 20 case. In a separate case from the same date, third-degree theft.

William Heckt, age not listed, second-degree criminal trespassing.

Wayland G. Bransetter, 51, driving with license canceled, revoked or suspended for a criminal offense.

Daniel J. O’phelan, 55, first-degree sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault, both domestic violence-related.

Patricia G. Maggi, 49, six counts of falsifying business records, 10 counts of misapplying property, 12 counts of second-degree theft, one count of unauthorized use of an access device and one count of scheming to defraud.

Phillip A. Hughes, 70, driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Casey K. Garner, 32, driving under the influence.
