Sept. 13-20

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to 10 medical calls and three fire calls.

Firefighters went to a fire-alarm activation at Homer High School and a gas leak from a broken gas line.

Homer Police

Sept. 16

Homer Police at 6:03 a.m. went to the scene of an accidental 911 call that resulted in the arrested of a 34-year-old Homer man on a $50 arrest warrant. After further investigation, police charged the man with three counts of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

Sept. 18

Police at 4:42 p.m. arrested a 30-year-old Homer man for second-degree, third-degree and fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Sept. 19

Police at 2:22 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 51-year-old Homer man and arrested him for driving under the influence. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Police at 4:42 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 21-year-old Homer man and arrested him for DUI. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Alaska State Troopers

Sept. 11

Alaska Wildlife Troopers at 11:35 a.m. issued a citation to a 25-year-old Ninilchik man for commercial fishing without a commercial fishing crew license. The operator of the vessel, a 39-year-old Kasilof man, was issued a citation for employing an unlicensed crewmember. Bail for both citations was set at $270 each.

Sept. 14

Troopers at 2:20 p.m. stopped a driver in a vehicle on the Sterling Highway near Virginia Avenue. Troopers found the man had a suspended license and conditions of release on a previous charge. Troopers issued him a summons for driving while license suspended and violating conditions of release.

Sept. 16

Troopers at 9:11 a.m. received a call of a possible drunk driver at Chapman Elementary School in Anchor Point. Troopers responded and arrested a 48-year-old Anchor Point person for DUI and avoidance of an ignition interlock device..
