Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 20 medical calls and two fire calls.

Jan. 1

Firefighters at 3:13 p.m. went to a report of a Dumpster fire off of Collie Circle. Upon arrival they found a burn pile. Firefighters issued the homeowners a burn permit. Burn permits are required year round in the city of Homer. Burn permits can be obtained 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the fire hall.

Jan. 3:

Firefighters went at 11:23 p.m. to a report of a mobile home fire off of Clover Lane. Upon arrival they found no smoke or fire. Crews found a bathroom fan that had malfunctioned and burned. Damage was isolated to the bathroom.
