Samuel Walden von Rekowski was born at 3:27 a.m. Oct. 9, 2013, at South Peninsula Hospital to Kate and Jeffrey von Rekowski. He weighed 10 pounds, 5 ounces. His grandparents are Nancy and Jerome O’Connor of Hornell, N.Y., and Hans and Gerry von Rekowski of Sitka. “Welcome to our family, Samuel. May you grow up curious about the world around you and know we love you,” his family said.
