Homer boy gets $1,000

from Awesome Foundation

The Alaska Chapter of the Awesome Foundation has awarded its $1,000 November grant to Rowyn Cunningham of Homer for the benefit of the Homer chapter of Amtgard, a Live Action Role Play game. Rowyn applied for funds to repair and replace some of the equipment that the group uses, and to obtain additional equipment for participants to borrow. The group meets on Fridays at the Homer Public Library to create equipment and on Saturday evenings to role play.

The Alaska Chapter of the Awesome Foundation started in June 2015 and is part of a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe. Each autonomous chapter supports projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These grants of $1,000 come out of pockets of the chapter’s “trustees” and are given on a no-strings-attached basis.
